N Zone Sports basketball leagues deliver fun and excitement for all kids, whether your favorite player is new to the sport or a rising star.
Freshman Division, starting at age 5 to 7 yrs . This division emphasizes skill building through the teaching of fundamentals like dribbling, passing and proper defense. While scores are kept, coaches emphasize the importance of learning these skills and displaying good sportsmanship over the final score of the game.
The Junior Varsity Division, 8 to 10 yrs, begin implementing advanced skills, like transition defense, various defensive schemes and improved ball movement, This is a very important age, as dropout rates begin to increase with greater pressure being placed on kids. N Zone Sports directors and coaches understand this and work hard to infuse fun into the program to ensure maximum enjoyment of the sport for players.
Players ages 11 to 14yrs participate in the Varsity Division. While some will develop their skills and prepare for the high school level, most participate because of genuine enjoyment of the game and friendships that have formed over many seasons. While fundamentals are still preached, coaches spend a majority of their time and effort teaching advanced skills like setting picks, increased tempo and increasing player's basketball IQ.
Ages (14 to 16yrs) will start honing their skills in to play on a more advanced level and in some cases start getting looks for college ball. This is where they we will look at the highest of competition that is offered for this type of program.
N Zone Junior Academy (2yrs - 4yrs)
The N Zone Junior Sports Academy program is a terrific way to introduce your child to all the excitement that basketball brings. Basketball can be an extremely challenging sport for process for little ones. That is why N Zone Junior Sports Academy programs combine the best elements of instructional camps with the fun and excitement of games. We begin every season with an introduction to the game, including teaching court boundaries and the importance of teammates. Juniors will learn the most basic of skills like dribbling, passing and shooting.
Our Junior program facilitates an ultra-fun experience which often includes parents in the instructional drills, making it a completely interactive experience for everyone involved. We will build the skill level of players before introducing sports leagues. These programs become so popular that in many cases, parents and players prefer them to a traditional league. Academy programs will be for 8 weeks.
