Club Rules:

• Smoking/vaping is prohibited and not permitted on church grounds. 
• No alcohol, illegal drugs, or drug paraphernalia are permitted on the grounds.
• No cursing or use of derogatory or abusive language.
• No loitering in front of Church.
• No pets allowed.
• Footwear is always required.
• No food or drinks are allowed indoors or on the court. 

Where do I park and is there a Parking Fee?

Parking is free. No speeding.

What does my child’s registration include?

Your child’s registration includes a Basketball Academy shirt., 60 minutes of skills & fun-based drills by a certified instructor, and an Academy completion award.  

Can I bring drinks and/or food inside the Rec Center?

No food or drinks allowed in the Gym. No exceptions. Parents can bring drinks for their camper in a SEALED container. Post-session snacks can be given OUTSIDE of the gym/church at the conclusion of the Session. 

Can I drop my child off?

No. Please do not drop your player off. A player’s parent/guardian is responsible for being present during the entire Basketball Session. If for any reason the said responsible party isn't available to stay the duration of practices or games, please do not attend or take your player with you. There are no exceptions to this policy. The first time a child is left unsupervised, will be the ONLY time. Should this happen, the participant will no longer be allowed to return for the season and the parent will not receive a refund. 

Can I bring my own Chairs?

Folding chairs are acceptable, but chairs are provided. 

What equipment or athletic gear do I need to provide?

Athletic shoes and comfortable clothing. N Zone Sports provides all equipment needed for participation. 

Can I bring cowbells or noisemakers?

No. Please leave the noisemakers at home. However, we do encourage you to cheer your child on while they learn & have fun! Thank you!

Are there practices?

No practices for the Basketball Academy. 

How long is the Basketball Academy Summer Season?

The season is 6 weeks long. Saturdays only. Please see registration details for dates. 

How long are sessions?

Basketball Sessions are 1-hour long. This will include drill stations, water breaks, and scrimmaging as participants progress through the Season.

What time is my child’s Session?

Sessions will begin in the morning with younger-aged children starting first, but exact times are TBD until registration closes. 

There will be 15-minute breaks between sessions to allow one group to leave before the next arrives.  

My child has never played Basketball before. Is this program safe for beginners?

N Zone Sports’ Basketball Academy is definitely safe and fun for beginner to intermediate levels.

Does my child need to try-out?

No. N Zone Sports’ Basketball Academy is a recreational program built to teach your player the fundamental skills of Basketball. Try-outs are never required. Every child learns & participates. 

Will there be a make-up day if games are cancelled?

Our basketball sessions are held indoors, and we do not anticipate cancellations. 

What are the age brackets for sessions? 

Our age brackets are determined by participation, but are commonly: 

• 5-7, 8-10, 11-13

Brackets are subject to change depending on final registration numbers.

How can my student sign-up for Volunteer Hours?

Please email southshore@nzonesports.com with the following information and an N Zone representative will contact you:

• Volunteer name, grade, and school
• Parent/Guardian contact information

Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes. Discounts vary depending on the number of siblings. Email us at southshore@nzonesports.com for more information.

Do you have a lost and found?

Yes. We will always keep found items, but only for the duration of the season. Items not picked up by the end of the Season will be donated or discarded. *DO NOT BRING VALUABLE OR HIGH-PRICED EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONICS, GAMES, ETC. to the rec center, as we are not responsible in any way if it gets lost, broken, or stolen.

Will my child have a Coach?

The Basketball Academy is not team-based; therefore, Official "Team" Coaches are not assigned. However, each drill station will be manned by at least one Instructor/Coach. Each group will switch stations and meet different instructors along the way. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know. 

Can my child be in the same group/session as a friend/sibling?

We love to see kids playing the sport they love alongside their buddy, however, making new friends is super fun, too! Therefore, please submit your request on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate. Please note, special requests are not guaranteed. 

Are Volunteer Instructors Background Checked?

Yes. All staff & volunteers 18 years of age or older must complete an FDLE background screening.
